Rod Walters, DA, ATC, He has been a concussion spotter in the National Football League. He also helped to establish a Major League Baseball concussion management program. This program brings together over 25 years of experience. in Athletic training.
As a consultant in Sports medicine: He serves as a resource to many high schools, colleges, and leagues regarding the implementation and evaluation of objective assessments. Additionally, he is frequently sought out for his expertise in reviewing institutional healthcare procedures. Aside from his consulting work, he is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine as well as the National Athletic Trainers Association. Having received the NATA’s Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award and served on the board of directors, he was inducted into NATA’s Hall of Fame in 2005.
Dr. Walters Has been active in the field of athletic training since his graduation from Appalachian State, where he received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees. He then went on to get his Doctor of Arts. in Middle Tennessee State University’s Physical Education major and now bringing his expertise to the country through his athletic training seminars.
