Jay Haley (M.A., 1953 Stanford University), was Director of Family Therapy Institute, Washington, D.C. He was one of the leading exponents of the strategic/interpersonal approach to family therapy. Haley was the Director of Family Experiment Project at Mental Research Institute as well as the Director of Family Therapy Research for the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. He has coauthored seven books.-He has authored and edited two books. He has also contributed more than 40 articles to professional journals. Haley was the editor of Family Process and the first recipient the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Milton H. Erickson Foundation.

Fast forty years. Virginia Satir has been a psychotherapist and has taught it. She is one of the founders and leaders of family therapy.-She authored four books, and five. A number of books are also available about her methods. She was awarded the Distinguished Family Therapy Award by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. 

Satir refers to the co-She was the founder of Mental Research Institute. She is the former president of the Association of Humanistic Psychology, and holds a number of honorary doctorates. Her master's degree was granted in 1948 from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.

Lewis R. Wolberg, M.D., He has been practicing psychiatry for over 50 years. His doctorate was from the University of California, Los Angeles. M.D. in Tufts College Medical School, 1930. Joseph Wolpe, MD, He was a South African psychiatrist and one of the most important figures in Behavior Therapy. Wolpe grew up in South Africa, attending Parktown Boys' High School. Joseph He received his M.D. in 1948, University of Whitatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He was the former director of behavior therapy unity at Temple University Medical School, and Emeritus professor fo psychiatry. He was the Medical College of Pennsylvania Professor of Psychiatry. He is a leading practitioner of behavior therapy and has coauthored three books.-Two publications were edited by him, and he has more than 200 publications. He founded the Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry. The American Psychological Association has awarded him the Distinguished Scientific Award in Psychology for Applications.
