Douglas Braun-HarveyMFT, CGP and CST is a trainer, author, and psychotherapist in the field of sexual health. He helps organizations achieve organizational change by bridging the gap between mental and sexual health. He was co-author of the 2013 book, “The Future of Sexual Health”.-The Harvey Institute was founded, an international education and training, consulting, and supervision service to improve healthcare through the integration sexual health.
Braun-Harvey Internationally and nationally, this teacher and trainer teaches the principles of sexual health in individuals, couples, and groups psychotherapy, drug- and alcohol treatment and HIV prevention and treatment, child welfare and prevention of child maltreatment, and child welfare.
Since 1993, he has been working to develop and implement a men’s health-based treatment plan. with out of control sexual behaviour (OCSB). His new book Rethinking out of control sexual behavior Sex Addiction written with co-In 2015, Michael Vigorito, author, was published. Published publications before Michael Vigorito include Sexual Health in Recovery: Professional Counselor’s Manual (2011) Sexual Health in Drug and Alcohol Treatment: Group Facilitator’s Manual (2009).
Mr. Braun-Harvey Certified Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Psychotherapist for Groups and Certified Sex Therapist. He is the treasurer of AASECT. to He is a founding donor to the Doug and a member of their Leadership Council for the Program in Human Sexuality. Braun-Harvey Fellowship in Compulsive Sexual Behavior. His sexual health has been his main focus.-Since almost thirty years, he has provided individual and group therapy at his San Diego private practice.
