This course teaches you: Erin Talks about why she loves to mix liquid and powder tints. She will explain how to mix the tints in the right load ratios with The mortar used and the reason she uses it. It will be clear to see how much water is required to achieve the desired consistency for tinted mortar. Erin She also teaches her multi-creative skills-For her underpaintings on substrates, she uses a colored, layered, or sometimes textured technique.
The online course is divided into 20 sections that are packed with information. The same information is used throughout the course.-person workshop. “All of my work culminates from the many different techniques I have studied and have been exposed to my whole life: weaving, dying, printmaking, drawing, painting, casting, sculpting, and mosaic. My work always has an element of time, marking changes, and shifting perspectives. The work is not a suspension of one moment in time, but the accumulation of moments within one piece. Using seemingly meandering lines of individually cut coloured tile woven together to create layers of meaning throughout my work.”
1998 Erin As a way of satisfying her artistic urges, she began exploring mosaics. She was able to develop her mosaic skills over the past decade and help others gain experience in this medium. She finally became a professional in 2011.
Soon after, she was awarded her first commission for public art: a large mural at Edmonton International Airport. In 2013, she was one 15 international artists invited by the site to contribute to its innovative works.-Inscape Arts, Seattle.
She is the only artist who has been awarded the “Innovation in Mosaic award” SAMA’s juried exhibit- Mosaic Arts International- was twice held. In 2013 and 2016, once again.
She exhibited her first solo exhibition at Enterprise Galleries, downtown Edmonton, in 2015. She has exhibited in Italy, France and Japan since then.
She was an invited artist at two International Mosaic Symposiums held in Italy: Sardinia (2016) and Udine 2017, respectively.
She is currently working on two large, exterior public art commissions to the City of Edmonton. These will be installed in 2018 & 2019.
Her work is included in private collections in Canada and the United States.
