The style and concept of the Guard are covered in Attacking the Guard. Gordon Guards are used to keep an eye on the guard. The theory behind each position is often explained and demonstrated so that users can quickly implement these ideas in their own games. I was able immediately to use the techniques explained in the video. This was an advantage over seminars and instructionals that can sometimes be difficult to remember. This video is highly recommended to all BJJ practitioners.

Gordon’s teaching greatly effected not just my own passing styles but also the way I go about teaching classes all together. His ability to increase the probability of passing with exposed limbs has also affected my situation in guard positions, where I have to be more responsible for my bottom positions. The combination of fluidity and micro positioning has significantly improved my Jiu Jiujitsu.

The passing system is a great tool. I have learned how to pass various types of guards. This has helped me find what works best for me. It also helps me recognize different attacks and improve my guard game.
This series is so comprehensive that I was able to give my sons, 13 and 8, tips on how to pass full guard. We look forward to continuing the series.

It was amazing! Gordon The DVD was organized and the sequences were arranged in a chain. His attention to detail, while not only helpful, is game-changing. His ability to make you understand concepts doesn’t just apply to passing, but to your entire game. Take, for example, his ability to communicate inside positions. These concepts are important for a lower belt to understand. Gordon He does an excellent job of delivering them. I’m looking forward to his closed guard instructionals.

Guard passing is something I have struggled with for years. This has been my weakest link in my game over the years, and it has developed the most slowly of all the other aspects. It affected every aspect of my grappling game from how I took down opponents to the submissions I chose. Why? Why? You are now with Gordon RyanI don’t care about’s style as much. He emphasizes the importance of showing moves and not just passing. These are key concepts that I and my training partners have found extremely helpful when passing the guard. I showed one our white belts how to use the Lockdown Pass. Gordon It was shown, and he used it in competition ten seconds later. These strategies work. This has a double benefit that I have not yet seen advertised. I have also found that his guard passing instruction has helped me retain my guard. These systems and methods can be reverse engineered so you can make it harder for your guard to pass.
Gordon He speaks clearly and provides key details in a clear manner. It is very easy to find the BJJfanatics site on my phone. It’s easy to access the website whenever I need it. He shows you how to defeat every guard, and most of the passing techniques are automatic. It can be used both as a proactive or reactive strategy. Ryan It teaches you how your opponent moves and how to change your pass accordingly. Grappling is an exciting sport. “one size fits all approach” It doesn’t actually work. I’ve seen many moves fail in the past because my opponent did something slightly different and prevented me from finishing a sequence. It doesn’t matter if they were good or not. Gordon Ryan’s Systematically attacking the Guard There are always contingencies. It predicts what the opponent will do next and how they will react so that you can attack them.
It is more than just passing, it is also about ATTACKING your guard. Sometimes, opponents who are being defensive in order to avoid being passed may be giving up the opportunity for submission. Gordon This is a great instructional and something I’ve used with success against black belts. This instructional is highly recommended and I recommend going to see him whenever he’s near you for a seminar. I’ve been to three of his seminars so far and would love to go back. Some people lose sight of his intelligence, his passion for the sport and his brilliance. My game is now a lot more based on what I learned from his seminars and instructional materials. I use the same thing he shows every time I train.
