Description
Description:
Supervisors who are good at working with supervisees will have a natural way of getting along with them. Supervisors form strong relationships with their supervisees and help them extol areas of incompetence to collaborately build competencies. and Supervisees learn how to make the most of what their supervisees have to offer to enhance the quality and value of the relationship. Through the supervisory relationship, supervisors/supervisees collaboratively generate approaches to working with clients, building appropriate treatment plans, and Supervising trainees to develop the skills they need to work on their own. A good clinical supervisor can help trainees become competent therapists.
The new Ericksonian Core Competencies Supervisors have many options and Supervisees need to develop resources for competent supervision and practice. They offer ways for supervisors to assess competency across several areas, give guidance on specific tasks/attributes/competencies to assess within their supervisees, and Provide guidance to supervisees on how to become Erickson-informed therapists.
