Description
Psychotherapy is complex, shifting and neurobiologically based. “dyadic dance” Between two human beings. How do we? “dance” It is determined by our unconscious body and emotional memories of early attachment experiences. This includes patterns of eye contact and proximity, distance and autonomic activation, safety and danger, trust, and mistrust. Our clients are driven by conflicts of desires and fears when their early experiences include neglect and abuse. Although they wish to be happy, to Trust and tolerance of disappointment and misattunement during therapy are not enough. Intherapy can also lead to powerful emotional memories of hurt, humiliation and betrayal. Rather than making things better, the therapist’s expressions of empathy or attempts to The transference of what occurred often seems to be a process. to Make things worse.
Interpersonal Neurobiology gives therapists new insight into how to change the post-traumatic “dance” Without the need to Intellectually process empathy failures and misattunements. To maintain a smooth rhythm with our clients, you need to know how to Monitor and regulate both our nervous systems and somatic experiences, and those of others. A body can be rehabilitated using insights from both Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and interpersonal neurobiology.-We can learn a lot from trauma and attachment-centered therapy to Facilitate moments of connection and attunement even with the most difficult clients
