DR. KAREN BLUTH received her PhD from The University of Tennessee in Child and Family Studies (2012). She is currently an assistant professor in the Program on Integrative Medicine Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation UNC School of Medicine Dr. Bluth’s research focuses on the Self-respecting roles-Promoting well requires compassion and mindfulness-Being in youth. She was called “the world’s leading researcher on the impact of self-compassion and teens” Self-Kristin Neff is a compassion pioneer and has created a self-help book.-Lorraine Hobbs’ compassion curriculum, Making Friends with Yourself: The Mindful Self, is available to all.-Compassion Program for Teens. Dr. Bluth This program trains teachers around the world. She received a prestigious NIH Award T-32 post-Doctoral research fellowship and a grant from the Mind and Life Foundation provided funding for Ground-Breaking research the Self-regard-compassion in well-being for teens. With funding starting at the John Rex Foundation and NIH. She and her colleagues are exploring. the Benefits of mindfulness and self-awareness-Compassion in at-Risk teen populations, which includes those at highest risk for depression. Further, Dr. Bluth Associate Editor of the Mindfulness journal, academic journal the Author of the book “The Self-Compassion Workbook for Teens: Mindfulness and Compassion Skills to Overcome Self-Criticism and Embrace Who You Are” (New Harbinger Publishers) as well as a contributor to the Books “Project You: More than 50 Ways to Calm Down, De-Stress, and Feel Great”, “Happiness Hacks: How to Find Energy and Inspiration”, “Me Time: How to Manage a Busy Life”?, and “Stress Less: How to Achieve Inner Calm and Relaxation” (Capstone Publishers). Mindful magazine featured her research many times. the Greater Good Science Center website and through NICBM Mindfulness practitioner for Dr. Bluth Frequently invited to speak, lead workshops, train teachers, or teach classes in self-help.-Internationally, compassion and mindfulness are taught in schools and communities.
