One of the hallmarks of traditional Chinese arts is the level of development that a practitioner takes on. The expression is 苦中樂, meaning that there is a discovery of joy that can only come from the bitter, hard work others shy away from. It is clear that skills are not the only thing we learn. If we can let go of our shortcomings and concentrate on our Post Heaven potential, we will find more.
Filmed in Zurich, Switzerland. Andrew Start with exercises that loosen the joints and liven up the tendons. Then, move on to muscle strengthening or coordination building exercises. Participants will find that the demands on their bodies will be challenging and will develop a sense of purpose and iron will. Is it possible to discover the joy in hard work that is painfully difficult? Can we confront our desire to give up and continue on? This video seminar is available online for The healthy is not a collection of practices. for The sick. Participants should be in good enough health to be able, at the beginning of the course, to learn the exercises. They also need to be able and willing to practice the exercises on their own or with the videos in order to maximize their development. There are many practices that include standing, moving and sitting.

Your instructor
Andrew Nugent-Head The founder of the Association for Traditional Studies (ATS), a 501c3 organization dedicated to the preservation, documentation and dissemination of China’s traditional knowledge. Andrew At the age of 18, he moved to China to learn Chinese medicine, martial arts and internal cultivation. These arts were his passion for 28 years. He was able to receive the best education in traditional mentor-disciple relationships.
Andrew’s studies and work have been featured on French and German television, the NBC Sunday Today Show, and on ABC News Special. He has also appeared in and worked on the Qi: The Mysterious Mystery Episode of Bill Moyers PBS documentary series Healing and the Mind. He was featured in US newspapers and has written extensively on Chinese Medicine, culture, preservation of traditional knowledge and globalization.
Through his not for profit, Andrew He has translated six books and produced more than 400 videos for education. for Practitioners of Chinese Medicine, Yin Style Bagua, martial arts, and others. Daoyin Calligraphy, practices and Calligraphy in more than 140 seminars held between 1993-2003.
His teachers have passed away. Andrew He now devotes his time to teaching Chinese medicine to others, as he has learned it through seminars all over the globe. In Asheville, North Carolina, he also has a clinic where patients can see him treat them with herbs, acupuncture and bodywork.
