Description
Stroke It can have a profound effect on patients and their families and drastically alters all aspects of your life. Cognitive deficits as a result of stroke may have a permanent impact on all activities carried out during a patient’s daily life, and lead to accelerated physical decline as well as increased falls risks. These may include problems with attention, orientation and memory, thought organization, reasoning, problem solving, and thinking. Many times, the patient is unaware of these issues or the complications they can cause. Reciprocal professionals must be able to identify these deficiencies and understand how they can affect the patient’s ability and performance in ADL’s and discharge plans.
This recording will provide the most current evidence-You will learn about cognitive deficits and how they impact stroke recovery. Learn how to apply principles from experience-You can use dependent neuroplasticity to identify and implement functional treatment goals that will help your patients maintain or improve their current function. This recording will enhance your ability apply patient therapies.-Focused interventions that encourage independent language completion-ADL’s that are based on the patient’s goals and outcomes. To maximize reimbursement for skilled services, you will be taught how to properly document patient goals and outcomes.
