His 2014 #1 New York Times The best seller The Score is in the Body: Brain, Body, and Mind. in The Treatment of Trauma, transforms our understanding of traumatic stress, revealing how it literally rearranges the brain’s wiring – specifically areas dedicated to pleasure, engagement, control, and trust. These areas can be activated through innovative therapies such as neurofeedback, somatically-based therapies, EMDR and psychodrama.
Dr. van der Kolk The former president of International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. He is also a professor of psychology at Boston University Medical School. He frequently teaches at hospitals, universities, conferences and other venues around the world.
