Back To The “Stone Age” – Before I Had A Newsletter
9 years ago when I began my career as a coach, there were no other people on my email mailing list. It was difficult to find clients. Every month it felt like I was beginning over, with no marketing momentum.
I was given some great advice by a marketing mentor. “Why don’t you start a newsletter?”
I did.
Into The Newsletter “Middle Ages”
I created a newsletter and did all I could to increase my subscribers. My list grew steadily from zero to over 2,000.
My email newsletter reached 2,000 subscribers, and something miraculous happened.
People would often email me to inquire about my services. They would then take me up on my coaching offer and hire me.
It was totally uninvited! These were people who had subscribed to my newsletter, and they enjoyed the free content that I shared. I was on cloud 9
In addition to getting new business consistently, I gained credibility with my newsletter subscribers by sharing my free content. This helped me establish my credibility as someone who could solve their problem and help them achieve the results they desired in their business or life.
It was almost as if every newsletter I sent generated activity, engagement, and new business.
This is what you can imagine. Each email you send generates excitement and new business. It will be a great experience!
All kinds of good things started happening
- People began to email me asking for consultations and then hired me.
- People started asking about my services.
- Thanks to my mailing list, my first group workshop was sold out.

After my mailing list had reached 2,000, I made a resolution to double it.
