Michael D. Yapko, Ph.D. He is a professional psychologist, with a clinical specialization, and is well-known for his pioneering work in clinical hypnosis, the development of brief psychotherapies, as well as the treatment of depression. He has been invited to speak in more than 30 countries, six continents. He is the author or 15 books, including The Discriminating Therapist. For his contributions to the field of discriminating therapy, he is the recipient of many awards including the Milton H. Erickson Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
