Stroke Neurology and Neurocritical Care

Cedric McKoy, MSN ACN P Neurology is the study of neuronal activity.-The intensive care nurse practitioner and Stroke The University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) Center Coordinator Nearly 400 stroke patients are served annually by the UCMC. It also includes a neurointensive unit for patients with ICH (ischemic stroke), subarachnoid bleeding, brain tumors and traumatic brain injuries.-Barré syndrome, and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis.
As an acute care nurse practitioner Cedric Works with a group of neurologists-Intensivists are trained to evaluate and create care plans for ICU patients. They also provide hospital services.-wide consultation for neuro patients. His role as the Stroke Center Coordinator, Cedric trains critical care nurses and is responsible for TJC data collection for the hospital’s stroke patient population. He also helped to develop the Stroke Management Guidelines for the UCMC
Graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Loyola University-Chicago, Cedric Is a member of American Association of Critical Care American Nurses Stroke Association and the Stroke Action Alliance
