Many of Japan’s best Judo players were teachers in years past. Judo was established by a doctor who studied education in the late 1800s. Numerous of these teachers have been identified.-Internationally, athletes were sent to promote the Japanese sport.

Because I am an educator, coach and former player, I was given an invitation to attend.

Japanese believed that Americans’ lack of interest in Judo stemmed from the fact that Judo is time-consuming and physically demanding. Americans have a shortage of both free time and physical fitness.

Simply put, the Japanese trainers had basically thrown out everything that Europeans and Europeans believed in when it comes to how the body builds power, strength, endurance, and speed – and they’d created and perfected a much higher level.-A level training approach that produced tangible results was something I and my colleagues, as well as the Japanese officials, were unable to believe was possible.

It was week six that I realized something amazing. I no longer felt the pain from the countless injuries I sustained in the gym. I no longer have shoulder pain from benching, back discomfort from dead lifts, and neck pain from being tossed on the head during practice.
Week seven was my favorite week. The week seven was my favorite. I gained incredible strength, energy and an amazing increase in athletic speed. I felt springy and flexible, almost like a tiger.
Finally, I was so fit that by the eighth and final week I was a total terror on the Judo mat. Even more importantly, I looked great!
Overall, I lost 70 pounds and dropped my body fat to less than 10%. My resting heart rate was around 54 beats per hour.
I could do 100 pushups and 20 pullups at a moment’s notice.-You can then do the ups and run a mile without feeling tired …. at 185 lbs.
But here’s the best part…
The entire bodyweight workout, although intense, only took 15 minutes!

Turns out, just a week after returning from Japan, he received an official call from the Japanese training facility.
Japanese officials were so impressed by the demonstration, they decided to change their mind about the topic. “American Judo problem” They decided to keep the program secret from their professional and Olympic athletes.
As typical Japanese snobbery, they believed that the program was too great…Too powerful …. not to share with all of the rest.
It was four years later that the Athens 2004 Olympics saw their incredible dominating Gold medal performances in Judo, Wrestling and Swimming. And, most surprisingly, the Hammer Throw.
All Japanese-affiliated Judo Schools were threatened with everything, from lawsuits to being thrown away by the Judo Fédération to having their status revoked if their American students taught the program. (Or, for that reason, any other nationality as well as Japanese citizens)
Ah well, that’s what I thought. I think Judo is a terrible sport, but it’s great for me.!
I did not have any ties to, affiliations, or loyalty to the Japanese government.
There was nothing they could do ….to stop me from teaching my fellow Americans the training secrets that I had developed in the lab and tested in competition.
