Daniel His teachers included Mahayana Buddhism, Islamic Sufism, as well as other Indigenous paths. He also learned from the remnants of his German, Irish, and English ancestors. He’s also an initiate in the Ifa/Orisha tradition and has made four pilgrimages in recent years to Yoruba-speaking Nigeria.
He combines his experience as a psychologist with his personal commitment for cultural healing work for social justice and the earth. A path that takes you deep into the past in order to bring its blessings, transformative revelations to the present and future generations..

Module 1 Cross-cultural Foundations of Ancestor Reverence & Ritual
Through an exploration of cross, discover the foundations and common precautions that are used in this experiential work.-Cultural views about the relationship between the dead and the living.
You will learn how to create ritual safety and cultural awareness while working with your blood relatives. Get grounded in your self-compassion and kindness, you’ll set the intention to relate only with wise and loving ancestors as you seek healing for yourself and your family.
The module will be approached with an understanding that participants might feel uncomfortable about the emphasis on blood lineage ancestors. This includes survivors of child abuse, people with limited family history knowledge, LGBTQ participants, adoptees, or those without biological children.
In this module, you’ll:
- Learn the basics about an earth-Honoring/animist approach that honors and reveres our ancestors.
- Find common crossroads-Cultural views about the relationship between the living & the dead

Module 2: Assessment of the Health of Your Primary Blood Lineages
How can you tell if your ancestors are at peace in your lineage? In this session, you’ll discover how to safely and systemically assess the present-time condition of each grandparent and their line before them.
Through guided ritual, you’ll also explore these lineages’ impact on you and other living family members and establish necessary boundaries with any among the dead who are not yet at peace.
This fundamental distinction — between well ancestors and the dead who are not yet well — informs all other aspects of this approach to ancestral healing work. In this module, you’ll be facing this question head on.
By trusting your own intuition and ability to discern the state of your lineages, you’ll also learn to break the cultural conditioning that disconnects you from direct and conscious relationship with your ancestors.

Module 3: Contacting Ancestral Lineage Guides & Teachers
Your lineage’s gifts are represented by your wise and compassionate ancestors. They provide healing for those who are still suffering from the effects of death, and they are our inspiration to continue living while they are here.
In this module, you’ll be supported to make connections with much older ancestral guides and teachers along your lineage of focus — to leap beyond what can be known through historical research alone into direct relationship with the elders who serve as your ancestral guides.
Connecting with older, well-informed ancestors can bring you new resources of healing, protection, guidance, and inspiration. A shrine, altar or other place of honoring can help you care for these relationships.
These guides also carry a capacity to see us clearly and very specifically for who we truly are, a precious blessing when the dominant culture so often fails to appreciate each person’s unique gifts and medicine.
In this module, you’ll:
- Connect with older ancestral guides who can offer healing for more recent ancestors
- These ancestral guides are available to you for personal blessings and support
- Here’s a guideline on how to care for and establish an ancestral altar.
- Explore different ways you can nurture your relationship to your ancestral guides
- Consider the effects of colonialism, conquest, and earth disconnection on this particular bloodlineage
Module 4: Prayer for the Ghosts & Deepening With the Guides
Attunement allows you to make connections with ancestral guides. Attunement can help you receive the blessings and guidance of the older ones. It allows you to inquire about spirits of affinity within your lineage and invites other ancient wisdoms to return into conscious awareness.
Knowing your guides will allow you to learn valuable ancestral inheritances as well as healthy sources of cultural pride. This ability to remember can reveal blessings that were hidden for many centuries, or even thousands of generations.
You’ll also work with your ancestral guides to establish a healing web of prayer around your lineage of ancestors. This will accelerate healing and protect you. As is the case throughout the course, you’ll be encouraged to let your well ancestors do the heavy lifting.
In this module, you’ll:
- You can practice attunement to deepen your connection to your ancestral guides from your lineage of focus.
- Ask your ancestral guides to help you surround your lineage with healing prayer and respectful containment
- Invite contact with spirits of affinity, who have a multigenerational relationship you your ancestral lineage.
- As a way of strengthening your connection to your ancestors, you might consider making offerings.
Module 5: Understanding Ancestral Blessings & Burdens
We human folk are creatures of story, and in this module, you’ll partner with your ancestral guides to better understand the story of your lineage as it lives in the present.
You’ll explore questions such as: What are the ancient gifts? These ancient gifts have been lost, distorted or diminished over the years. How do you feel about the unwell ancestors’ wounding patterns? What is your family’s reaction to these unhelpful stories? By seeking understanding, you’ll be preparing for more direct intervention by the guides.
You’ll also be introduced to a particular way of framing your thoughts about cultural troubles as they manifest in specific ancestral lineages. These toxins could include legacies of greed, earth disconnection, religious extremeism, greed, economic exploitation and colonialism as well as racism, sexism and racism.
By reflecting on the ways that these troubles also live in your lineages and body, you can start to reframe personal struggles as ancestral challenges and lay the groundwork for the explicit cultural healing work you’ll be doing in upcoming modules.
In this module, you’ll:
- Look at how challenges and gifts can be passed on through the generations of a bloodline
- Find ways to experience the energy of lineage in a different way than individual ancestral spirits.
- Ask your ancestral guides for help in understanding the blessings and burdens of your particular lineage.
- A framework should be created to allow you to consider ancestral wounding as cultural (e.g. sexism and racism, colonialism, exploitative capital)
- Make commitments to your ancestors in order to embody and restore lineage blessings.
Module 6: Ancestralization Learn to Assist the Older Lineage Deceased
Like the living, the dead change, and in this module, you’ll increase your understanding of those processes and ask your guides to set them in motion.
You’ll explore how different cultures view the status change from ghost or recently deceased to well-Sitting ancestor (e.g.: psychopomp. Elevation, Ancientization) and how you might experience this healing when working with your guides. Through guided ritual, you’ll then ask your guides to receive older ancestors on your lineage of focus into the company of the healed and whole ancestors.
For the sake of both ritual safety and effective outcomes, you’ll be encouraged throughout the lineage repairs to allow your ancestral guides to carry out the work — and allow the transformations to occur with minimal personal effort.
You’ll also be given new offering practices and ways for maintaining your personal energetic safety during a catalytic healing process.
In this module, you’ll:
- Consider the ways that different cultures explain how troubled or recent dead become ancestors
- Consider allowing your ancestral guides, with minimal effort from your part, to heal you.
- Your ancestral guides can help you elevate your ancestors from the past.
- Recall the importance ritual safety when helping troubled deceased become ancestors.
- Reaffirm lineage healing gains using earlier practices (e.g., offering, focused prayer).
Module 7: Inviting Grief, Forgiveness & Emotional Healing
Families and ancestry can be tangled up in questions about belonging, family, loss, love, and lovelessness.
In this module, you’ll explore the importance of grief in ancestral lineage healing, and be given tangible strategies for safely welcoming strong emotions during ancestor-Focused rituals. Your first guided ritual will provide an ancestrally-resourced space to address the inherited grief or heartache from your lineage.
You’ll also explore the role of forgiveness in the healing of both the living and the dead, and have the chance to engage in a ritual forgiveness process. The approach to forgiveness isn’t forced or divorced from systemic injustice, and care will be given to the need for acts of repair from past harms when at all possible.
This module invites complete.-In addition to the more focused ritual repairs of previous modules, a heartfelt and honest engagement is required.
In this module, you’ll:
- Learn the reasons and benefits of grieving about your family’s lineages, ancestors, and family history.
- Learn how to manage the intensity of grief safely in a ritual context which includes spirits
- Accept grief or any other strong emotions as part of the healing process with your lineage.
- Consider the relation between forgiveness and healing, justice, ancestral wellness, and justice.
- With your focus line, engage in a ritually safe and emotionally honest forgiveness practice
Module 8: Helping the Recent & Remembered Dead to Join the Lineage
In this session, you’ll ask your ancestral guides to receive the remembered dead of your lineage into the company of the well and healed ancestors.
Ritual to assist the remembered dead can cause participants to feel vulnerable due to memories or inherited stories — many less than positive — of the deceased. The intensity of this stage may increase due to the unfinished business of the heart and the tendency for lineage issues to be expressed in the most recent generations.
Along with making space for tending with the recent dead, you’ll take time to reinforce the gains made during the earlier modules and learn about the benefits of a grounded, systematic approach to ancestral repair work.
Now, over two months into the shared journey, we’ll discuss the importance of a flexible, patient, and heart-A centering approach to healing intergenerational disconnection and pain.
In this module, you’ll:
- Understanding the differences between working with older lineage ancestors or with younger generations
- You will learn important skills to help your ancestors from the past while remaining safe and resourceful.
- Ask your ancestral guides if they can intervene for your lineage ancestors from the future
- Continue to practice and strengthen the health of your older lineage. Your ancestors may also perform a healing intervention.
- Consider the importance of allowing the dead to change and evolve — and ways you can support this beneficial transformation
Module 9: Assisting the Very Troubled Dead & Reinforcing Lineage Healing
Sometimes all that could go wrong goes. This is why ancestral engagement fears are reinforced and the troubled dead feature in volatile combinations of incarnate or ancestral dysfunction.
In this module, safely — and with a bit of macabre levity — you’ll be introduced to worst-If you haven’t lived them before, these are possible case scenarios. Together we’ll make sure that course participants with truly tangled lineages feel well met and resourced in their ancestral repair work.
You’ll be given a protocol for safely peeling back the layers in complicated cases — and for ways to frame worst-case scenarios. We’ll discuss how fear can be an ally in respecting our limitations and the critical importance of simply asking for support.
This ritual process will enable you to put these skills into practice according to your lineage. You’ll also review a protocol for honoring the bones, ashes, and inherited ancestral objects.
In this module, you’ll:
- For more complex cases (e.g. possessing spirits, curses or soul fragmentation), consider these guidelines and how to assist.
- Family abuse, trauma, or dysfunction can be reframed through the lense of ancestral wounding, healing, and reframed
- Discover a way to care for ancestrally inherited items, including physical remains.
- Ask your ancestors if they will continue to heal the recently dead and bless the bones for those in the lineage
- You can practice shifting the status of an older lineage from good to excellent.
Module 10: Weaving in Extended Family & Embodying the Healed Lineage
If all your ancestors of a single lineage are at peace, you can direct lineage blessings towards extended family members and settle the energy restored to this lineage in your own body. This stage is often the most fun after the previous stage of care.
In this module, you’ll be guided through a ritual to bring healing and blessing to the siblings and extended family of your grandparent, parent, siblings, etc. You will be following this blood lineage. You’ll then be invited to ask your ancestors to update or optimize your physicality, your DNA as it were, to reflect the new healed energy of this lineage.
Finally, you’ll explore how to allow the blessings of your people along this lineage to flow not just around but through you as a conduit for prayer for living family members and future generations. This completes the circuit and your relationship with this lineage shifts from one of repair and healing to one of celebration and maintenance.
In this module, you’ll:
- Intend your ancestral blessings to your children’s grandparents, parents, siblings and other relatives.
- To reflect this new healing energy, ask for a personal physical enhancement of your blood, bones and DNA.
- You can embody lineage blessings, and pray for your ancestors’ family members living in a state of greater alignment.
- Refocus on anchoring certain lineage blessings and gifts in your daily life.
Module 11: Healing Cultural Troubles & Other Intergenerational Themes
Spiritual and cultural wellness can be interrelated. To be truly well, those ancestors who held toxic views and committed interpersonal violence throughout their lives will have to be confronted.-Ancestors who are seated This reckoning with the impact of one’s actions can include a kind spirit-Reparations or level restorative justice that involves the dead, working for victims or groups that were hurt during their lives.

In this module, we’ll explore another layer or strata of ancestral repair work that includes directly engaging with themes of cultural healing. You’ll be invited to identify one specific kind of cultural trouble to bring to your ancestors with the intent of strongly establishing the antidote along the lineage of focus. This can be used to work with other types of themes that travel along your bloodlines (e.g. physical ailments, bad luck).
In this module, you’ll:
- Learn more about the cultural problems discussed in Module 5 and the corresponding remedies and antidotes
- You should also consider the many ways that the dead can culturally change and be an important ally in the work of social and environmental justice.
- To work with an ancestral guide on a particular cultural theme in your lineage, partner with them
- You can practice to reset your cultural perception of your ancestral lineage and your self-perception in relation to them
- Receive a protocol for working with a particular theme within your focus line.
Module 12 Ancestral Dedication Ritual, Integration & Next Steps
Following the healing, take a moment to pause and integrate.
With respect to the repair work still to be undertaken along other lineages, you’ll look into ways to celebrate with your people, including the ritual of the spirit feast, to welcome those newly ancestralized along your lineage of focus.
You’ll also explore the possibility of being the one in the family system called to tend to the ancestors in an ongoing way, and about the option to make this calling explicit in the form of an intentional and humble vow of service to your people.
You’ll be guided through a ritual of reviewing and reinforcing the previous stages of the ancestral healing work, including the choice to walk with the gifts of this lineage of ancestors.
We’ll also discuss and weave into the embodied ritual the way in which our ancestors are excellent allies in further clarifying your very specific destiny during this Earth walk. And we’ll also have a moment together, as it’s a very precious and meaningful thing, for your ancestors to consciously return their blessings to the realm of the living.

She’s worked at a hospital doing guided imagery and expressive arts therapy with palliative care patients, at a mental health clinic with a sliding scale fee in service of the community and accessibility to mental health, and with homeless mothers and children. She’s also worked in the school system providing therapy to young children and teenagers with their families.
