In 1994, I began doing business online. I’ve sold a lot of products, both physical and digital. I’ve made a lot of money. I’ve lost big chunks of money too. I’ve made a lot of mistakes. And I’ve learned a lot of hard lessons.But the most important thing I ever learned was back in 2005…September 14, 2005 to be exact. That’s when I had two websites…both earning six-figures annually…practically disappear overnight. Traffic vanished suddenly. The money was gone. I stared at my screen, thinking. “WTF?”.
It turned out that my traffic came from sources I didn’t control.. The Internet marketing industry was experiencing dramatic changes, as they often do. I had no backup plan. Nothing was in the pipeline. I have not found a miracle product that will solve all my problems.
So I quit. I stopped doing what the gurus taught. I stopped following the lead of everyone else. It was true, I stopped doing what everyone else was doing. And I started testing my own ideas and strategies with one goal in mind…total control…to never be at the mercy of the Internet again.
These tests have been ongoing for the past eleven years. And to be honest, some of the stuff I’ve tried has failed spectacularly. But some of it has worked…and worked really well. The strategies I created have become my only source of information for all my websites, as well as for all of the sites of my clients.
I call it The Longevity Marketing System
Three years ago, I was the first to tell you about it.
It is what I call it. Longevity Marketing System because unlike all the fads and gimmicks being pushed (where you maybe make a few bucks before your web site dies), with this system you build legitimate online businesses that actually grow bigger and more profitable year after year…regardless of what comes and goes on the Internet. It is a system that will last online for years.For example, I used an earlier version of Longevity Marketing to launch WebVideoUniversity.com back in 2008. It went from a brand new web site with zero visitors…that no one had ever heard of…to 6-Sales figures for the first year. The 7 years following? Each year has been even more profitable than the last…all while I work less and less.
Take the link I mentioned in the headline (the one with the red lines through it). Just 18 blog posts on a single website can bring in $241,973 in revenue. All this was done with the help of the Longevity Marketing System. Why did I place the red line through it. It was three years ago.
