Description
Somatic Intervention skills are an essential addition to every relationship therapist’s toolbox. There is no conversation worth having if the nervous system isn’t in A settled state. When couples become emotionally charged it’s because they’re feeling threatened. Their nervous system becomes alert and ready for defense. This defense helps to hide vulnerable feelings and prevents them from engaging with each other effectively. This presentation will present strategies that can help couples settle their nervous systems. in You will need to dig deeper into the root causes of distress in order to find constructive solutions.
The body “holds” so much emotional information that isn’t always accessible through words. Participants will be able recognize subtle signs that one or both of their partners feel threatened or distressed, and learn how to intervene on an emotional level. Interventions can help to uncover the causes behind unhappiness.
