PHILIPZIMBARDO, PH.D.
Philip Zimbardo Internationally recognized as the “voice and face of contemporary American psychology” Through his PBS-repeated shows-Television series, Discovering Psychology. He also wrote the classic psychology research, The Stanford Prison Experiment. His popular trade books on Shyness (in adults and children) include Shyness: What is it and what you can do about it. Past president of both the American Psychological Association and the Western Psychological Association.
Zimbardo Since 1968, he has been a Stanford University professor (now an Emeritus Prof). He previously taught at Yale, NYU and Columbia University. He is currently a faculty member of the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology as well as the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey. He has been awarded numerous honors for his contributions to education, research, writing, and service to the profession. For his research on the human conditions, he was honored with the Vaclav Havel Foundation Award. His social psychology research interests are represented in more than 300 publications and 50 books. with A wide range of interests are available, including shyness, time perspective and madness, cults.
