Dr. Yalom will discuss those aspects of therapy that he has discussed in his stories and novels, especially focusing on group therapy and existential issues in therapy. He will discuss his novel, The Spinoza Problem. Dr. Yalom will read and discuss two of his new psychotherapy teaching tales.

Dr. Yalom is a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. His major areas of interest are Group Psychotherapy Interpersonal communication and interdependence-Individual therapy was based on his own experience. He has used narrative, short stories, and novels to share the art of psychotherapy in recent years.
Dr. Yalom was the recipient of the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award presented by The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), at the 75th meeting, March 6, 2017, in New York City.
