Salvador Minuchin (MD)., developed Structural Family TherapyThis program addresses family problems by charting the relationships among family members or subsets. The Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic was his directorial role. The Clinic was not fully staffed at the time he started it, but under his guidance, it grew to be one of the most respected and well-known child guidance centers in the world. Minuchin founded his own family therapy centre in New York in 1981. Minuchin retired in 1996 and the center was renamed to the Minuchin Center. Many notable books were written by Dr. Minuchin, including many classics. His most recent book is Mastering Family TherapyJourneys of Growth and Transformation According to a 2007 survey, Minuchin was named one of the top ten most influential practitioners of the last quarter by 2,600 practitioners.-century.
