It is possible to end up multiplying again if you forget one of the numbers. You might need to put in a lot of work to solve the multiplication. Mental math will become a whole lot easier if you didn’t have to use so much of your working memory.
To free up our working memory, we were taught in school to write down numbers on paper. However, there is another way.

Okay, so what did I say earlier about how math has been taught to us in school requires us remember a lot.
You can do mental math fast if you do opposite of what you were taught in school. This is known as the LR Method.
I can tell you this: if you don’t do this, all mental math tricks you learn will be meaningless. This secret is like rocket fuel for mental math skills. This is the foundation for everything else.
This is because you will have almost no working memory. This will allow you to use as little memory as possible.
LR stands for Left To Right.
Mental math requires you to work from left-to-right instead of right-to left. This is contrary to what you were taught in school.
Let us try the earlier example. We multiplied 73201 by 3.
We get when we multiply our time from left-to-right.
7 x 3 = 21
3 x 3 = 9
3 x 2 = 6.
0 x 3. = 0
3 x 1 = 3.
You can see that you began to call out the solution before you had even completed the multiplication problem. You don’t have to remember a thing to recall and use later. This makes math easier.
In our example, we used an one-digit multiplier. Imagine being able to calculate more complicated numbers with the same speed, such as (73201×38 or 73201×432). Imagine you can add, subtract and divide at the same time.
This is as easy as multiplying by the LR method, let me tell you.
