Ethics Cultural issues, beliefs, or values can often complicate these decisions. Cultural factors can influence situations such as accepting a gift from clients, meeting clients in social situations, or living in small communities. More serious issues like dual relationships, therapeutic touch and countertransference, as well as other important matters such as how to handle dual relationships, countertransference, and countertransference. Counselors and therapists who lack the proper training or are complacent about ethics or cultural competency may be at risk of losing their professional license or causing legal problems due to ethical violations or mistakes.
You will learn how to deal with difficult and sometimes complex ethical situations when working with clients. Highlighted topics include clarifying personal values, managing dual relationship, confidentiality and tech, cultural humility and physical touch in therapy, living within smaller communities and dealing with sexual attraction. She is a qualified counselor for alcohol and drugs and Qualified Counselor in Tennessee. Dr. Patterson A Masters Addictions Counselor and QualifiedSubstance Abuse Professional through National Association of Addictions Professionals, she is also a member of Trainers Academy and an approved NAADAC trainer.
2005 Dr. Patterson She was awarded the Tennessee Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors’ Lifetime Achievement award. In 2006, Mel Schulstad, NAADAC’s national Professional of the Years award, was presented to her. For more than 20 years, she has been conducting professional training in various areas, including statewide and national, on addictions, mental illness, and professional counseling.
