“CP,” Dissociative Identity Disorder client is working to improve her relationship with suicidal ideas. and impulsivity. This session helps her to reorient.-Frame the desire to die as a sign of a suicidal aspect of her personality that is trying to control flashbacks and These emotions can overwhelm. This allows her to clearly distinguish the desire to live in spite of herself-They can lead to destructive impulses. She is open about the shame that traditional approaches to suicide can elicit in her. and It fuels the suicidal side to take desperate measures. Understanding the suicidal ideation is a communication from the suicidal portion, she says that she has an increasing ability to stay safe, regardless of how intense the suicidal impulses are.

She is also co-Pat Ogden and author Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Interventions to Attachment and Trauma (2015) and Author of The Healing of the Trauma Survivors’ Fragmented Selfs Overcoming Internal Self-Alienation (2017) and The book is coming soon Work with the Neurobiological Legacy Of Trauma (in press).
