Jon Winder is a consultant, clinician, author, lecturer, and consultant. His practical and sensitive approach to counseling is well-known. He earned his Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Florida. He is a Licensed Professional counselor and a Substance Abuse Practitioner. He has been in private practise for more than thirty years. Since over 40 years, he has been a consultant and clinician in the fields of addiction and mental health. He was previously the Clinical Coordinator for the Adolescent Treatment Program for Central Virginia Community Services. He is also the former director of Arise Residential Center, which offers residential drug treatment. He has presented many seminars on addiction, family, childhood trauma and clinical practices to other professionals and supervised more than 40 people in their licensure process. He has also presented workshops and training both locally, nationally, and internationally. In 2001, he spoke at the American Counseling Association Conference. He conducted 3 workshops in 2012-day workshop in Mauritania Africa on “High Risk Youth and Resiliency.
