A “rad” Life
I’m creating this course from Manhattan Beach, where I work for myself writing, coaching, and giving talks under the RadReads umbrella. After sleeping eight hours, I make breakfast for my kids and wife every morning. I don’t set an alarm (unless the waves are good), NEVER work with assholes, and (despite living) in LA don’t commute. I work approximately 40 hours per week.
Can I be financially independent? No. Do I feel like I’m retired? Totally.
This is a 180-degree pivot from my previous life as Wall Street investor. I thought I was playing my cards well, but thanks to Through hard work and luck, I was one the youngest (32-year-old) Blackrock managing directors. But I was bored to death. My children knew only a distracted, drained father. I was also emotionally disconnected from my job.
