This recording will help you to better intervene with the challenging child – the one who won’t sit still; doesn’t follow directions; often throws tantrums; or has difficulty waiting for It is their turn. They are impulsive and can’t express what they want or what frustrates them. We know this child is intelligent, caring and kind, but their behavior doesn’t reflect these positive qualities. These children are often difficult to understand and frustrate parents, as well as teachers and other peers. These children struggle to meet basic expectations, are disregulated and are unable to succeed academically and socially.
Dr. Ehlert You will learn how to successfully intervene in emotional and behavioral dysregulation with techniques that address the sensory and executive functioning processing deficits. Through hands-on experience and discussion-You will be able to teach children with high functioning autism how to set appropriate expectations and create the right environment.-Functioning Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.

Laura Ehlert, Psy.D., She is a child clinical psychologist and has worked with children, adolescents, and families with severe emotional/behavioral difficulties. for More than 30 years. She has a private practice in Burnsville Minnesota that specializes in helping clients who have difficulties with information, executive function, sensory processing, and the associated emotional, mental, and behavioral health issues. Dr. Ehlert She has worked with thousands youth in many settings, including schools, outpatient mental health settings, residential treatment centers, partial hospitals programs, schools day treatment, and partial hospitals. She is a clinical psychologist with a doctorate in psychology. Her training focuses on child psychopathology and developmental issues of childhood.
