About Leslie Korn, PhD., MPH., LMHC
Leslie KornDr. Maria Gracia, PhD, MPH., LMHC is a renowned integrative medicine physician and educator who specializes in the use nutritional, herbal, and culinary medicine to treat trauma, emotional, and chronic illnesses. She is well-known for her enthusiasm and humor as a speaker. Her private practice has seen her provide over 50,000 hours in treatment for diverse clients. Her clinical focus is on finding clients effective alternatives for psychotropics.
She received her doctorate in psychiatry from Harvard Medical School. After that, she spent the rest of her life working alongside local healers in Mexico. She was the director of a naturopathic clinic and training center that offered health, culinary, and fitness retreats. She is licensed and certified as a nutritionist, mental health counselor, and bodywork (Polarity, Cranial Sacral, and medical massage therapies). She is also an approved clinical supervisor. She developed somatic therapies to treat complex trauma patients.-Harvard Medical School, 1985. Patient psychiatry. She was previously the New England School of Acupuncture’s clinical director and faculty member, as well as the National College of Naturopathic faculty. Medicine.
She is the author of the classic book on the body and complex trauma, Rhythms of Recovery Trauma Nature and the Body. Her textbook Nutrition Essentials was also published. Mental Health; Eat Right Feel Right; & The Good Mood Kitchen. Her new book is on herbal medicine. Medicine In 2019, women will be able to vote.
She was the founder and first president of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Medicine NIH-Funded scientist in mind/body medicine. Capella University core faculty member. She is also the Center for World Indigenous Studies research director. Here she develops culinary and herbal medicine programs for tribal communities involved in the development of integrative medicine programs.
