Meghan SchaufeleCCC,, MA-SLP, BCS-S is a licensed and certified Speech Therapist-A Language Pathologist specializing in swallowing disorders. Meghan Worked with a group of therapists to Provide treatment and evaluation of speech, cognition and dysphagia to patients at Level One Trauma Centers and Comprehensive Stroke Centers. Her duties include conducting and interpreting modified-barium swallow studies. Her career has included the creation and implementation of new therapeutic meals programs, as well as the development and implementation of an armband system. to Help identify the right diet for patients and residents while maintaining their privacy.
Meghan completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Tennessee, receiving ASLHA’s Students Pursuing Academic and Research Careers (SPARC) Award. Meghan is responsible for teaching and supervising speech pathology Master’s students completing an externship at her facility. She is a regular educator. to Medical students and residents are able to learn about the scope and field of speech pathology. She also conducts training sessions to Nursing staff that focuses on stroke and dysphagia. Today, Meghan As a member of the Southeast Regional Stroke Center committee, the only Comprehensive Stroke Center that has been accredited in the region, and as a team member
